A little bit about me…

Hi - I’m Pippa. I hold a BA (Hons.) in Music and have enjoyed a rich and varied career as both a soloist and orchestral player, working with some of the world’s leading musicians. As an experienced educator and mentor, I have dedicated many years to teaching Violin and Piano across a range of ages and settings. I have a holistic approach which places joy and curiosity at the heart of learning, enabling students to discover new creative pathways.

My passion for music education extends beyond individual lessons and has led to leading workshops and musical groups in both educational settings and healthcare environments, fostering inclusive and engaging musical experiences. I enjoy helping to build confidence in even the most apprehensive students, enabling them to overcome barriers and unlock the true enjoyment of playing an instrument.

A lifelong learner myself, I actively engage in ongoing professional development to keep my teaching fresh, innovative, and student-centered. I also mentor new and emerging teachers which is an experience I find deeply rewarding, and an opportunity not only to share my own experience and thoughts, but to discover fresh perspectives and exchange ideas with others. I believe that mentorship is most powerful when it flows both ways.

Above all, I consider it an absolute privilege to guide my students and fellow educators alike, walking alongside them as they grow, learn, and realise their musical goals and dreams.

I hold an Enhanced DBS and my most recent CPD includes:

  • Child Protection in Education (Music)

  • First Response First Aid

  • Autism Awareness

  • ADHD Awareness

  • Understanding Anaphylaxis

  • Understanding Asthma
